What we do

Softeners, filters and drinking water

The system, the install and a water test when you need one are in every price we give.

Priced on this page

Softeners and whole-house filters

Softeners, softeners with iron removal, whole-house carbon filters and sediment filters, priced from the problem you can name.

Most asked for

Water softeners

Spots on the glasses, scale on the faucets and dry skin are hard water. A softener is the fix.

Orange stains

Iron removal

A softener with iron removal for the orange stains a well leaves in the tub.

Kitchen sink

Reverse osmosis

An under-sink system with its own faucet for drinking and cooking water.

Well water problems: bacteria, sulfur and more

Bacteria, a rotten-egg smell and low pH need equipment chosen for the test result, so we test first.

First step

Water testing

A sample to a certified lab, and a plain-English read of the report.

How we price

A number before the water test

The form at the top of this page uses our real rates. It shows a range rather than a single number because the test decides the size and the media, and we do not order anything until it does.

Tell us what you notice

What you are trying to fix, city water or a well, the bathrooms, the plumbing that is there now, reverse osmosis and whether the water has been tested.

See the range

Midpoint plus or minus 10%. Jobs under our $900 minimum quote at the minimum. Anything over $6,000 gets a visit instead of a number.

We test and confirm

We test the water, size the system to the result and confirm the price in writing. Travel is priced from your ZIP. The price is the same in any month.

Service area

Based in Gettysburg. We say what the trip costs before we make it.

Your ZIP code sets the travel line on your estimate, so the drive is on the page before we make it.

Notes for anyone evaluating the demo
  • Priced path. Pick Softeners and whole-house filters, then: Hard water and orange iron stains (softener with iron removal), Private well, 3 bathrooms, No, this is the first one, a drain nearby Yes, reverse osmosis Yes, No: test it first (certified lab). Use ZIP 17325. The live pricing engine returns $3,580 – $4,376. The $2,100 system, the $425 loop, the $695 reverse osmosis and the $95 lab test make $3,315; a well +10% and three bathrooms +10% pool to +20%, so the midpoint is $3,978.
  • A yes or no that charges on No. Answer No to the drain question and $195 joins the dollars for a longer drain line or a small pump: $3,791 – $4,633. A rule can fire on either answer, and this one fires on the answer that costs more.
  • Two other systems. A plain softener on city water replacing an old one, two bathrooms, no extras: $1,485 – $1,815. A whole-house carbon filter for a four-bathroom house with no drain nearby and reverse osmosis: $2,816 – $3,442.
  • Minimum floor. A sediment filter on a well, replacing an old one: the work is $495, under the $900 minimum, so it quotes $900 – $990.
  • Travel zone. The priced path with ZIP 17401 (York) adds the outer ring’s flat fee: $3,666 – $4,480. ZIP 22201 (Arlington) falls to the catch-all: $3,738 – $4,568.
  • Out of area. Use ZIP 99901. The visitor gets a polite decline instead of a price, and the lead is still captured.
  • Routing mode. Pick Well water problems: bacteria, sulfur and more. That service is in site-visit mode, so it never shows a price at all; the visitor sees “we like to see it first”. None of its questions carries a pricing rule, which the widget still validates and still records.
  • The photo question carries no rule. Photos never move the price — the engine skips them entirely. Nothing is uploaded either: on a demo the visitor can tick “I have photos I can send” and the lead records “Has photos to send, not uploaded”, which is the owner’s cue to ask for pictures on the callback. Attaching the image itself is on the roadmap.
  • The missed-call text-back. The CallMitt page replays which of five messages a missed caller would get and why. Straight about where it stands: the texting number is not live and no registration is filed yet, and the forwarded-call hook waits on that number, so today the missed call is logged by hand and the reply becomes an outbox row marked queued. It is not delivered, and a queued row that is still sitting there an hour later is retired rather than sent. The rules, the hours, the weekend, holiday and vacation branches, the quiet hours and the opt-out handling are all built and running now.
  • The widget’s color matches this site because the account’s key carries a theme color; the same script on an agency’s client site would carry the agency’s color.
