Somebody just called Saltbox Snow & Ice, and nobody picked up.

This page replays what CallMitt does next. The situation, the message and the send decision below are produced by the same code the product runs — change the moment and watch the answer change.

Calling from

Why this message, and not one of the other four

It is Tuesday 3 November, 9:30pm where Saltbox Snow & Ice works (Eastern (New York)).

The situation

After hours. It is 9:30pm on a weekday, outside the 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM window.

Then the compliance checks, in order

  • ✓Not opted out (301) 555-0187 has never replied STOP to this business. An opt-out is permanent and cannot be overridden.
  • ✓Not on the suppression list The business’s own “never text these” list is empty here.
  • × Quiet hours where the caller is It is 9:30pm for them (New York). Texting runs 8:00 to 21:00 in the caller’s zone, not the contractor’s.
blocked Recorded as blocked — quiet hours in the caller's time zone — texting pauses 21:00 to 8:00 local (and for an area code we can't place, outside 2pm to 9pm Eastern).

The five messages Saltbox Snow & Ice has written

One per situation. The business-hours message is required because every other situation falls back to it; the rest are optional. Each must carry an opt-out instruction, and each is capped at 320 characters, which is what a text can hold.

What is not true yet

No text is delivered. There is no SMS gateway connected and no carrier (10DLC) registration, so even inside the member portal a text-back becomes a row in the outbox marked queued and stops there. Every screen in the product says so.

The missed call is logged by hand. The forwarded-call hook is built and waits on the texting number. Today the contractor presses “Log a missed call” in the portal, which runs exactly the pipeline shown above.

This page writes nothing at all. It replays the decision without recording it, so browsing the demo cannot fill the account’s outbox.

Details worth knowing

  • Two clocks, on purpose. Which message to send is decided in the contractor’s time zone; whether it may be sent at all is decided in the caller’s, estimated from their area code.
  • The closing hour is exclusive. With a 5:00 PM close, 4:00 PM-something is still business hours and 5:00 PM is after hours.
  • Saturday is always the weekend to CallMitt, even for a business that works Saturdays. There is no per-day schedule.
  • The same number is only texted once an hour, however many times they ring.
  • Six US holidays are built in: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Custom dates are not supported.
